Schlatter’s Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations and supporting decision-making with accurate financial reports. Key Responsibilities Sales Report Generation - Prepare and compile detailed sales reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and provide insights into trends and patterns.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all sales information to support business decisions and strategy.
Customer and Invoice Management - Enter customer information into QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of customer data in the QuickBooks customer center.
- Enter invoices at the beginning of each job and create customer invoices as work progresses.
- Reconcile customer statements for invoicing accuracy and completeness.
Financial Reconciliation and Reporting - Reconcile vendor statements and request any missing bills.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare monthly AR journals and commission reports, as required.
- Upon the completion of each job, present job costing analysis to the leadership team.
Accounts Receivable (A/R)- Generate customer invoices and change orders.
- Assist with collections and payment follow-ups.
- Process deposits and manage AR-related phone calls.
- Create and manage payment agreements when necessary to ensure timely collections.
Accounts Payable (A/P)- Enter all bills into QuickBooks Online.
- Pay bills in accordance with payment terms.
- Expense management and identification for job costing.
- Maintain electronic copies in QuickBooks Online for record-keeping.
Bookkeeping - Manage daily Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions using QuickBooks Online.
- Reconcile invoices, process payments, and handle deposits.
- Reconcile banks statements and credit cards.
- Track and maintain financial records for accuracy and audit readiness.
- Submit tax payments and ensure readiness for annual tax preparation.
Skills and Qualifications: - Bookkeeping & Payroll: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online with proven experience in using the software for accounting functions. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization: Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using office software (Microsoft Office, email platforms, and cloud storage tools).
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and follow-through in all tasks.
- Time-management: Skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Customer Service Oriented: Friendly, responsive, and professional when working with customers, vendors and employees.
- Confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and customer information.
Education and Experience: - Degree in Accounting , Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within the agricultural industry.
Additional Requirements - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work on-site at our Francesville, Indiana location.
- Comfortable working in an agricultural and water management industry within a team-focused environment.,
