Job Description



AECOM  is actively seeking to add a  Structural Engineer  for our  Hunt Valley, MD  office. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. 

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures.
  • Preparing engineering-related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
  • Performing condition inspections and/or field instrumentation of highway bridges or other structures in a variety of environments including confined spaces and at height (proper training and personal protection equipment will be provided).
  • Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Qualifications

:

  • Relevant intern and/or professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard structural analysis computer software packages.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard computer software, including typical office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Proficiency in steel and concrete design and analysis.
  • Ability to perform field work (bridge and drilling inspections).
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
  • Successful completion of Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (FHWA-NHI -130055)
  • Experience with ASIR and SAM.
  • Experience with instrumentation of bridges (sensor installation, programming, and data processing).

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Occasional travel to project sites including bridge inspections is required for this position, which may include some overnight stays.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in  Hunt Valley, MD . The selected candidate must be available to work in  Hunt Valley, MD  on a scheduled basis.
