Job Description

About Prepared

Emergency centers, vital to our society, are often constrained by technology that dates back to the landline era. This presents a stark contrast to our current smartphone-centric, socially connected world. At Prepared , we bridge this gap with cutting-edge technology that harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize how emergency calls are handled.  Our innovative technology is providing a suite of tools that significantly boost the capabilities of 911 dispatch centers and first responders. With our solutions implemented in over 800 cities across 48 states, we're positively impacting the lives of approximately 75 million people.

Backed by $27 million in Series B funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, we're scaling rapidly to become a core component of emergency calls nationwide, driving the future of emergency response toward a safer, more agile system.

Joining the Prepared team means more than just a new role. It's a chance to be at the forefront of impactful tech that significantly improves public safety and touches lives across the globe. At Prepared, you're not just part of a team; you're a key player in a larger mission to foster a safer, more interconnected world.

Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Product Manager at Prepared 911, you will drive the vision and execution of completely new, zero-to-one products aimed at revolutionizing public safety. You’ll work on large, cross-functional initiatives that push the boundaries of communication and data-sharing for 911 telecommunicators, dispatchers, and responders. Specifically, you will:

  • Lead Major Cross-Functional Projects: Plan and deliver complex features impacting multiple product areas. Define clear goals, align teams on product vision, and ensure consistent, high-impact delivery.

  • Shape and Communicate Roadmaps: Establish product roadmaps that reflect company strategy, balancing competing priorities and securing stakeholder buy-in. Keep diverse teams focused on delivering outcomes that advance our mission.

  • Champion Deep Customer Understanding: Conduct and synthesize extensive user research, regularly engaging with customers and stakeholders to embed empathy and real-world needs into every decision.

  • Perform In-Depth Market Assessments: Identify market gaps, competitive opportunities, and strategic levers for growth. Use these insights to influence product direction, ensuring Prepared’s offerings remain both innovative and robust.

  • Facilitate Stakeholder Alignment: Influence through clear articulation of the product vision, reconciling conflicting priorities and securing organizational commitment to drive large-scale projects forward.

  • Mentor and Develop PM Talent: Provide structured guidance to other product managers, sharing insights and lessons learned to enhance collective knowledge and leadership capabilities.

  • Drive Complex Initiatives: Tackle project blockers decisively, balancing speed with strategic impact. Keep cross-functional teams aligned on objectives and deliver on high-stakes deadlines.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Extensive Product Management Expertise: You bring 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects in B2B or B2G SaaS environments, ideally with exposure to 0-to-1 product development.

  • Technical Acumen: You’re adept at collaborating with engineering teams, translating high-level vision and product goals into actionable technical requirements.

  • Strategic Mindset: You excel at weaving market research, user feedback, and data analysis into coherent strategies that position products as market leaders.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: You have a proven record of building alignment across engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams, ensuring everyone is working toward a unified goal.

  • Adaptability & Growth Orientation: You thrive in rapidly changing environments, continuously iterating based on market and user feedback.

  • Self-Driven & Empathetic: You’re a self-starter who can proactively identify opportunities, inspire teams, and keep the customer’s needs at the heart of every decision.

Join Prepared 911 and help shape the future of public safety. Your efforts will directly influence how critical information is communicated, potentially saving lives in moments that matter most.
